Poems/Stories Created on February 22, 2011

I took the first line from the poem I wrote yesterday morning and the students added lines and passed it around the class to have lines added by other students (I will also post the one created by fb friends). Here is the original poem (I am going to edit it--so give me some feedback to make it better, please):

The glycerin trees creak in the night under the sun
As the squirrels bundle their babies
In the nascent hole that barely
Escapes the spray of frozen time

The glass crackles and the branch falls
Setting off a scramble for cover Scattering limbs on the desolate tundra
As the carnage settles, the fracture on the ground
Leaves crystal seeds frozen in time

The skitterish birds timid warblers peck at the still
Life of the red buds captured
In globes spread across the landscape
Vivacious souls not frozen in time

Haikus created in class.

After theory class today, I thought I would try blogging as a way to publish some writings created in class. Here are the Haikus created by theory students during class today:

Cognitive Dissonance Theory Haiku
Sometimes I think that
I know what I believe in,
but do opposite

Elaboration Likelihood Model Haiku
ELM persuades
CR PR which are you?
Well, that's all we got!

Social Judgment Theory Haiku
This water is warm.
I think this water is cool.
That's social judgment.

If you type your "poem" or "story" created today, we can post it here. 8-)
